Symptoms and treatment of vitiligo

When talking about the symptoms of vitiligo, the main symptom is the loss of pigments, which causes white areas to appear on the skin, which is also termed as depigmentation. Other less typical symptoms may include: The premature greying of the hairs on the scalp of a person, whitening of  lashes and eye brows also occurred and loss of beard is observe. Any part of the body of a person can suffer from vitiligo. The process of depigmentation usually generates first on the more exposed places of an individual epidermis layers, such as your feet, hands, mouth and face. It also has an impact on Genital area. There are several techniques, such as beauty products, corticosteroid lotions and UV light box treatment by which the pigmentation can be regained to certain extent, and depigmentation of unchanged epidermis places, can be done to enhance the overall look of epidermis that seriously suffered from Vitiligo.

There are two main kinds of vitiligo: Segmental vitiligo and non-segmental vitiligo

The type of Vitiligo that is non-segmental has also known as general Vitiligo or bilateral Vitiligo; the signs of Vitiligo often appear on the skin occupying both sides of the body. White Symmetrical spots can appear on places such as on the backs of your arms or hands etc. It is the most common type of vitiligo, which greatly affects individuals.

In Segmental vitiligo, the white-colored areas sometimes may only put an impact on only one area of the body. Segmental Vitiligo is also known as, localized or unilateral vitiligo.

It is less typical in symptoms than non-segmental vitiligo type; it is more typical in kids.

White-colored patches will more likely to appear and in some individuals, it occurs easily and more quickly. In other individuals, the white areas may remain the same for long time.

If the white-colored areas appear symmetrically on more than one aspect of the body sides, the situation may improve quite gradually, with times when the areas do not modify. If someone has white-colored areas on only one part of the body, the situation may improvement easily.

There are four options are currently available for the treatment for vitligo: sunscreens, cover-up, restore normal skin color and normal skin bleaching creams to remove normal skin pigment, do not color.
